me in your home or you can sign up for a six-week series.
*If you have already taken one of my BFW classes, the fee for doula
services will be $425 minus the cost of your class fee.

available to couples who have taken another childbirth class.
Because I want you to feel fully prepared
for your birth I require my doula clients to either take one of my
childbirth classes or another high-quality childbirth class.
Many typical hospital classes are a wonderful resource for learning
about your birthplace and birth in general, but offer inadequate preparation for birth,
particularly natural childbirth.

A doula is a woman
professionally trained to provide
constant, one-on-one support to birthing women and their partners.
Some things a doula does:
- Provide continous support and encouragement
- Put you and your comfort/wishes first
- Help your partner know how to help you with your
needs and
help him take care of his
- Assist you as you prepare to give birth by providing
information, helping you practice coping techniques and assisting you
in addressing concerns about birth and motherhood
- Teach you about your options for birth, comfort
measures
and ways to stay healthy
- Provide massage, counterpressure and other wonderful
comfort measures
- Help with initial breastfeeding
- Help you and your partner know how to talk to your
care
providers so that
you can get the information you need and be part of the decision making
team at your birth

As part of my doula services I offer:
- A free initial interview and consulation
- 2-3 prenatal visits to your home before birth.
During these visits we will review the things you have learned in
either my Birthing From Within classes or other childbirth
classes. We will also discuss your needs and wishes for birth.
- Unlimited phone calls for information and support.
- I will be on call for you from three weeks before
your due date until two weeks after your due date.
- Continuous support on the day of your birth. I
will join you at home or at your place of birth and stay until you are
breastfeeding confidently and feel ready for some family time.
- 1-2 postpartum visits after your birth
My qualifications as a
doula:
- I am certified through DONA
International
- I have been working as a doula since 2003
- I completed a 6 month long apprenticeship with three
of Utah's best doulas in 2004
